Run Utkal Express via Rourkela: RCC

Rourkela, Aug 03 (UNI) The Rourkela Chamber of Commerce (RCC) today demanded the South Eastern Railway authorities to restore the 8477/8478 Utkal Express running between Puri and Delhi via Rourkela by August 15.

The Railway authorities, in an order, diverted the train to run via Jhrsuguda and Talcher since June 19. As per the order the arrangement would continue till August 31.

In a letter to the General Manager of South Eastern Railway, RCC president Mehta said while eight pairs of trains were running between Puri and Delhi via Cuttack, Khargarpur and Tatanagar, only the Utakla Express was running via Rourkela, the industrial capital of the state.

Mr Mehta threatened to launch a mass agitation if the railway authorities failed to run the train via Rourkela by August 15.
