Police form special team to nab criminals
Puducherry, Aug 3 (UNI) Police today formed special teams to nab the culprits, who assaulted a merchant and decamped with Rs 1.5 lakh from his possession last night,near here.
Police said Rangaraj (75), a rice merchant in the town, was returning home after closing his shop.
He was returning with his employee Mayan in a motorcyle.
When they reached near to his house, two motorcycle-borne people hit them from behind. As they fell down, the duo showed knives and asked them to handover the money.
As they refused, both of them were stabbed, and the culprits snatched away the money and escaped.
Both of them were admitted to the Government General Hospital here.
