KSRTC pay scales to be revised-Minister
Mysore, Aug 3 (UNI) Karnataka Transport Minister R Ashok today said that the pay revision of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) employees would be announced within next two months.
Speaking after presenting silver medals to 18 KSRTC drivers who have to their credit accident-free driving, he said that the revised pay scales would be enforced with retrospective effect from January this year.
He called upon the employees to see all the leakages in the KSRTC revenue was plugged.
Stating that a notification in this regard to allowing 25 per cent concession for senior citizens travelling in the KSRTC buses would be issued in a day or two.
KSRTC was one among the three corporations in the country which has been earning profits and this year's profit was expected to be around Rs 6.5 crore.
The Mysore division has fared well with profit of Rs 2.4 crore upto June end this year.
The Minister said that the state government was planning to purchase 3500 new buses which would be deployed to areas where there was a dearth of transport and that several movel changes would be made in the transport facility in the state.
Earlier, the minister inaugurated seven new buses of Rajahamsa one each for Mysore-Hyderabad and another to Tirupati.
Four air conditioned services between Mysore and Bangalore also included.
