IT PARK project work progresses in TN
Tiruchirapalli, Aug 3 (UNI) The District Collector T Soundiah today said the preliminary works for the establishment of IT park in Tiruchirapalli district was in progress and once the IT park project started its operation, the District would get more benefits.
Addressing the 41st Annual General Meeting of the Tiruchirapalli District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association here, Mr Soundiah said efforts were also on for establishing a Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
The Collector said the District administration was also making efforts to create an additional infrastructure in order to attract more Investments from industrial sector.
About the resolutions adopted at the meeting, Association's President S Sridharan said the meeting appealed to the State Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to institute a detailed study on preparing a new growth plan, consisiting of development of rural areas of the State, in order to achieve a balanced industrial development in urban and rural areas.
He said the meeting had also appealed to the Union Government to provide airlink to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Secunderabad, Ahmedabad and also to London and Paris from here, and to provide rail link between Tiruchirapalli and Salem via Musiri and Namakkal, to exempt the tiny sector from the purview of excise and service tax.
The meeting also urged the State Government to ensure uninterrupted power supply for the tiny sector and to simplify the existing Industrial and Labour laws, he added.
