Girl drowns in pond in West Champaran

Bagaha, Aug 03 (UNI) A girl drowned when she was bathing in a pond at Bagha block-II of West Champaran district today while her cousin was battling for life at a local hospital.

Official sources said two minor girls - Sandhya Kumari (8) and Sita Kumari (6) - drowned in the pond while bathing.

Later, they were rescued by the villagers and rushed to a local hospital where Sandhya was declared dead while her cousin Sita's condition was stated to be serious.
