Despite rains, curfew 542 pilgrims proceed for Amarnath shrine
Jammu, Aug 3 (UNI) Amarnath pilgrimage continued today despite inclement weather and curfew in the entire region as a fresh batch of 542 pilgrims left the base camp under tight security cover, an official spokesperson said.
The caravan of the pilgrims, including 69 women, 10 children and 154 sadhus, left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp here this morning, the spokesperson said.
However, the yatra was delayed due to heavy rains, he said.
The two-month-long Amarnath yatra had commenced on June 17.
