Uma Bharti detained, Sadivi Ritambhara sent to Delhi
Jammu, Aug 2: Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janshakti leader Uma Bharti was detained on Saturday, August 2 in the curfew-hit Jammu city while firebrand Hindu leader Sadhvi Ritambhara was sent back to New Delhi from the airport, sources said.
Ms Uma Bharti and Sadhivi Rithambhara both had arrived here this morning. ''While Ms Bharti, who was to address a press conference at Circuit House, was detained by police, Sadhivi was not even allowed to come out of Jammu airport,'' an official source said.
Later, Sadhivi Ritambhara flew back to New Delhi from the airport. Ms Bharti was taken to Udhampur district. Senior BJP leader and in-charge of party's Jammu and Kashmir unit Mr Arun Jaitley was also stopped by police at the airport for over an hour, sources informed.
