Truck driver found murdered in truck on NH-I

Phagwara, Aug 2 (UNI) A truck driver was found murdered in his truck parked outside a local school on NH-I this morning.

The decomposed body wrapped in a bedsheet was found lying at the back of the truck. Investigations by the police revealed that the truck was loaded with chemicals worth lakhs, which were missing from the vehicle.

The victim was later identified as Swaroop Singh of village Tungwala near Amritsar. Documents of a Amritsar based transport company were found in the truck.

The owner of the company had on July 29 lodged a complaint in Amritsar about the missing truck. The police after registering a murder case have begun investigations.

The dead body of the victim was handed over to his relatives who had come from Amritsar, after a post mortem to find out the cause of the death.
