Terror letter to police is fake
Puri, Aug 2 (UNI) Superintendent of police Asit Panigrahi today said a letter received by them threatening to blast the Kumbharpara police station was a hoax.
The police station received a letter by post threatening to blow it off.
Mr Panigrahi said a team of experts, who examined the letter, said the terror letter was mailed from Banpur in Khurdha district.
The writing pattern and contents did not tally with that of the "Maoist culture", the experts said and described the letter as a fake.
The police were verifying the authencity of the letter with its counterpart in Gajapati, Malkangiri and other Maoist affected districts.
