Security beefed up in Nashik for 'Shravan'
Nashik, Aug 2 (UNI) In view of the recent terror strikes at Bangalore and Ahmedabad, elaborate security arrangements have been made here considering large number of devotees visiting the holy city during the month of ''Shravan''.
Security has been beefed up at Trimbakeshwar, Malegaon and Vani, superintendent of Police Nikhil Gupta said during a press meet yesterday.
Dr Gupta said CCTVs have been installed inside the temples. Also Watch towers have been erected in the temples premises. Security personnel will be checking the devotees and also vehicles at various places.
Meanwhile, in order to facilitate the investigation, police personnel will be given training of Urdu, Punjabi and Gujarati languages, he said. Two new police stations will be created at Malegaon Camp and Deola soon, he said.
A police public school, which will impart education from KG to class 12 for the children of police personnel as well as common citizens will soon come up at the Nashik Rural Police headquarters at Adgaon, he said.
Reviewing the law and order situation in the district he said there was considerable decline in crimes such as dacoity, robbery, house-breaking and thefts, during 2007-08 in comparison to 2006-2007.
