Police inspector murdered in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, Aug 2 (UNI) An inspector of the Chandigarh police was allegedly stoned to death in Dadu Majra village in the Union Territory last night, police sources today claimed.

The victim, identified as Inspector Kashmira Singh, was hit with bricks on the head on a path leading to the village. His body was found lying beside his motorcycle by villagers this morning, who in turn informed the police.

The Inspector, a resident Sector-26 was attached with the VIP security wing of the UT police. So far no arrests had been made and the motive behind the murder was still not clear to the police.
