Petrol pumps in Kerala to remain closed on Sundays

Kochi, Aug 2 (UNI) Petrol pumps in Kerala will remain closed on Sundays with effect from August 18, the All Kerala Petroleum Traders Federation (AKPTF) announced today.

Addressing a press conference here, AKPTF President M S Mathew said it had also been decided to keep the petrol pumps open from 0600 to 2000 hrs.

However, for the convenience of the public, one petrol pump in each 'taluk' will remain open by rotation on Sundays.

These measures were being taken to improve the working conditions of the petrol pump employees, he claimed.
