Two Hizbul Mujahideen militants arrested
Srinagar, Aug 2: A National Conference (NC) leader escaped a militant bid on his life while two Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militants were arrested in the Kashmir valley overnight, official sources said on Saturday, August 2.
They said militants attacked NC leader Showkat Ahmad Gayoor Anrabi when he was travelling in his vehicle near Pahoo Kakpora in south Kashmir district of Pulwama. The Personal Security Official of Mr Andrabi also fired back but the militants managed to escape. Mr Andrabi escaped unhurt in the attack, the sources said, adding that the windscreen of his vehicle was damaged.
Police has apprehended two Over Ground Workers (OGW) of the HM from Arigoripora Kangan in Ganderbal district. They were identified as Munawar Lone and Abdul Majid Sheikh.
