Mirren regrets turning down 'The Who' invitation
Washington, Aug 2 : English actress Dame Helen Mirren has expressed regret for turning down a personal invitation from the rockers The Who.
Mirren had been asked by the band's late drummer Keith Moon to join them on stage for a show, but the actress declined the invite.
And she's regretted it ever since.
The 63-year-old actress, who had earned herself a name as a theatre star in the late 1960s and 1970s, looks upon that moment as her biggest mistake.
"It was my absolute failure as a rock 'n' roller - I so blew it," Contactmusic quoted her as saying.
"I really lost out there. I've regretted it all my life. It was a terrible mistake," she added.
Moon, who was known for his exuberant drumming and his destructive lifestyle, died in 1978, aged 32.
