International fake currency racket busted, 2 held
Hyderabad, Aug 2 (UNI) The City police today busted an international fake currency racket with the arrest of two persons belonging to West Bengal and seized Rs 1.94 lakh currency in Rs 1000 denomination.
Police said, on a tip-off, special police teams had arrested Barjahan, a native of Nandalapur and Tarqul Islam of Chitriyal in West Bengal district, from a lodge. They had come to the city to circulate the fake currency in the state.
They revealed during interrogation that Bola Shaik, also from West Bengal, was supplying the fake currency to them for circulation in the country.
He was receiving the currency from Attaur Rahman in Bangladesh.
Attaur Rahan had close links with the gangs who made the fake notes in Pakistan, police added.
