3 serial killers held under Goondas Act

Kancheepuram, Aug 2 (UNI) Three persons involved in serial killings here were arrested under the Goondas Act today.

District Collector Santosh K Misra issued the orders this morning against Devaraj (21), Manikandan (19) and Damodaran (20) following which they were taken to Puzhal Central Prison in Chennai.

Police said Devaraj was arrested in connection with a burglary case last year.

Suspecting that his accomplices were involved in getting him arrested, he killed five of them with the help of his gang and buried the bodies in various places in the district.

The crime came to light when he was interrogated in connection with another burglary case here. The bodies were recovered and sent for post-mortem.

The police arrested 11 gang members in the case, three of whom were slapped with the Goondas Act today.
