10 Bajrang Dal activists held for rampage

Faizabad, Aug 2 (UNI) At least 10 Bajrang Dal activists, including state assistant coordinator Gyan Kesarwani, were arrested for vandalising 'jhuggis' and attempting to set them ablaze in Kotwali area here today.

In their bid to push out the Bangladeshi immigrants from the country, the party activists created a ruckus at Light Gate in Chowk and vandalised the Jhuggis, besides attempting to torch them, SSP R K S Rathore said.

However, no Bangladeshi citizen was found there and people who suffered in the rampage belonged to Assam and Rajasthan, who were earning their livelihoods by working as scrap-dealer here, Mr Rathore added.

Meanwhile, Mr Kesarwani alleged that the blast that occurred in Wazirganj colony recently, grievously injuring two persons, was the brain-child of Bangladeshis.

He further asked the administration to throw the foreign citizens out of the country.
