Vivek Rae appointed new Chief Secretary of Andaman

Port Blair, Aug 1 (UNI) Mr Vivek Rae, an Indian Administrative Officer of the 1978 batch, has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar administration.

Official sources said Mr Rae will join as the new Chief Secretary of the islands at Delhi today.

He is expected to arrive here soon to take up his responsibilities, the sources added.

During his service career, Mr Rae held several positions in many states and Union Territories as well as Union Ministries.

He was the Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, National Capital Territory of Delhi since August last year before being appointed as Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar administration.
