Rare amphibian found in Siliguri

Kurseong, August 1, 2008 : A rare amphibian commonly called 'caecilians' was found after a gap of almost 150 years in Makaibari Tea Estate in Siliguri.

Banerjee added that they had found 3-4 more amphibians since then and are taking care of the rare animals. Experts from Delhi University visited the region to conduct a thorough research on the amphibian.
