Two extortionists nabbed by Arunachal police

Itanagar, Aug 1 (UNI) Aruanchal Pradesh police arrested two extortionists from their hideout at Banderdewa for their involvement in an extortion case at Nirjuli, about 20 km from here.

The Superintendent of Police (SP), Crime, said here today that on July 25, the two miscreants extorted Rs 10,000 from a Nirjuli businessman at gunpoint.

Earlier, the two accused, along with another accomplice, also demanded a huge amount of ransom from a trader in Itanagar area and made subsequent threatening calls, the SP said.

Both the miscreants were arrested from their hideout yesterday and a motorcycle was also seized from their possession.

Investigation is on to nab the other members of the gang, the SP added.
