Police see link between Ahmedabad and Hyd blasts

Hyderabad, Aug 1 (UNI) City Police Commissioner B Prasada Rao today said Andhra Pradesh Special Police Teams have found similarities between the Hyderabad twin blasts and the Ahmedabad blasts.

Addressing the press here, Mr Rao said the police teams, sent to study the blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad, had found some clues which indicated that there were similarities between the explosives and their chemical composition used in Hyderabad and Ahmedabad blasts and the way they were triggered.

Declining to elaborate on the similarities between the blasts, he said ''we have received some alerts from the Intelligence agencies on possible bomb blasts in the city.'' Stating that strong measures were being taken to prevent such incidents, he said, however, nobody was arrested in the city in connection with the recent blasts in Ahmedabad and Bangalore.

Cyber cafes were asked to register the names of browsers and set up webcams inside the centres to prevent the use of internet for terror attacks. House owners were asked to keep a tenant register, he added.
