Minor Districts bundled out at 76 runs
Patiala, Aug 1 (UNI) In the opening match of Dhruv Pandove Trophy (Under-19), Minor Districts (Zone A) were skittled out for a paltry 76 in 46.2 overs as a result of some hostile and penetrative Patiala bowling here today at the Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium.
Batting first, Minor Districts batsmen fell like nine pins and were never at ease on a placid wicket. Manil (21) was the only batsman to get into double figures.
For Patiala, Amarinder and Mohit Mohindra bowled exceedingly well to bag three wickets each, conceding 8 and 34 runs respectively.
Robin Dhillon got 2 for 12.
In reply, Patiala piled up 261, losing 4 wickets in 46 overs.
Jeevanjot Singh was unbeaten on 86, while giving him company is Mohit Mohindra with 58 not out. Vikramdit scored 46 and Kunwar Raina 37.
For Minor Districts, left-arm spinner Sukhdeep Singh bowled his heart out to capture all the 4 wickets that fell, giving away 80 runs.
The 2-day match will continue tomorrow.
