'Kuselan' being screened in Karnataka after Rajni's "sorry"

Bangalore, Aug 1 (UNI) With free breakfast and distribution of sweets to film buffs standing in the queues, Tamil superstar Rajnikant's 'Kuselan' was released in the city today, surviving a boycott threat over the matinee idol's hostile remarks over Karnataka government's opposition to Hogenakkal drinking water project.

A large number of Rajni fans thronged the 14 theatres where the film has been released and stood in the queues since morning.

The ecstatic fans were seen shouting slogans wishing best of luck to the veteran actor and producer. They burst crackers and distributed sweets.

The smooth screening was made possible following an aplogy tendered by the superstar to the pro-Kannada organisations for his reaction on the Hogenakkal issue. The actor had expressed regret in Hyderabad yesterday saying if any of the Kannadigas were hurt, it hurt him as well and requested for unhindered screening of the film.
