Kolkata, Aug 1 (UNI) Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi today expressed his profound sorrow over the demise of former CPI(M) general secretary and Polit Bureau member Harkishan Singh Surjeet.

'' We are deeply shocked over the death of Mr Surjeet. During his political term when any crisis has arisen, he has stood behind the Congress, '' Mr Dasmunshi told newspersons here.

'' We also extend heartfelt sympathy to his bereaved family, '' he said.
