14 get imprisonment in torturing for dowry case
Darbhanga, Aug 1: A fast track court on Friday, August 1 awarded imprisonment ranging from six months to ten years to 14 people, including the husband, in a dowry case.
Additional District and Sessions judge of fast track court number-II, Brajnandan Prasad, held all the accused of Dilawarpur village under Baheri police station area guilty of torturing a woman for dowry.
While three of them got ten years' imprisonment, eight were handed down three years' imprisonment. Besides, three women were awarded six months' incarceration.
As per the charges, Upendra Sah, in connivance with other accused, had tortuted his wife Lila Devi and kept her in confinement at an unknown destination. Later a case was registered at Baheri police station.
