Second death at Asaram hostel in MP

Chhindwara, MP, July 31 (UNI) Another child died today under mysterious circumstances at a school hostel run by Sant Asaram's Ashram here taking the toll to two over just three days.

Ashram sources said that Vedant Manmade (4), who hailed from Pune, was found ''trapped in a filled bucket'' in a bathroom.

Additional Collector Chandrashekhar Neelkanth announced a magisterial probe into the deaths.

In the wake of death of two inmates of the seer's Ahmedabad Ashram, an inmate of the hostel died under mysterious circumstances on July 29 and yesterday's post mortem by a team of two government doctors ''failed'' to determine cause of death.

The viscera were sent to Sagar divisional headquarters and the cremation took place here last evening.

Four-and-a-half-year-old nursery-student Radhakrishan Yadav was found in the hostel bathroom. His father Mohanlal Yadav, also a devotee of Asaram, stays in Mumbai.

Additional Superintendent of Police Amit Sanghi earlier said that the body would be video-graphed.

''The boy fell in a bathroom and was found unconscious,'' claimed Ashram Superintendent Mohanlal Jaiswal. He was rushed to a private hospital where he was pronounced dead. The body was later taken to the District Hospital.

The two bathrooms are near each other.
