Precious metals recover in opening session
Mumbai, Jul 31: Silver and Gold on Thursday, July 31 showed a recovery, with silver rising by Rs 275 per kg to open at Rs 24,890 and gold by Rs 60 per ten gm to open at Rs 12,555, from their last close, on brisk buying support by jewellery makers along with global bullish advice, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said.
Like domestic market, in international market also the same picture was witnessed, as gold increased to USD 910.30/911.30 an ounce from USD 907.20/908.40 an ounce, while silver edged up to USD 17.51/17.57 an ounce from USD 17.50/17.56 late in New York.
The precious metals improved today due to steady oil prices, dealers said.
Following were the opening domestic spot rates: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade: Rs 24,890 Gold (per 10 gm): 99.5 purity standard mint: Rs 12,555 99.9 purity pure gold: Rs 12,610.
