Govt distributes Rs 2 cr and 5 lakh to blast victims
Ahmedabad, Jul 31: The Gujarat government has distributed a total of Rs 2 crore and 5 lakh to victims of the serial blasts that ripped through Ahmedabad on last Saturday July 26.
According to an official release, 44 people were killed and other 207 people injured in the serial blasts in the city on July 26. The State government has paid compensation of Rs 5,00,000 to the next of the kin of 23 men and four women, whose legal heirs have been established duly. Total payments of Rs 135 lakh have been made to these victims. Similarly, a payment of Rs 50,000 has been made to each injured person in the blasts.
Government has made a total payment of Rs 70 lakh to those who received minor or serious injuries in the blasts. District collectorate is in the process of making payment of the compensation to the rest of the victims.
