Baton Relay to enter Haryana at Village Dundahera, Gurgaon

Chandigarh, July 31 (UNI) The Youth Baton Relay for Commonwealth Youth Games to be held at Pune, would pass through Haryana's Gurgaon, Jhajjar, Rohtak and Sonipat districts on August 3-4 before entering Baghpat in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh via Palari.

Abhey Singh Chautala, President Haryana Olympic Association would receive the Baton Relay Team at Delhi-Haryana Border village Dundahera on August 3 along with senior administrative officials and sportspersons.

Arjuna Awrdee and Olympian will carry the Baton in Haryana. They are Shakti Singh, Geeta Jutsi, Bhim Singh, Chander Pal (Athletics), M K Kaushik (Hockey), Asan Kumar, Rammehar Singh, K K Godara, (Wrestling), Omprakash, Dalel Singh, Amir Singh and Duli Chand (Volleyball), Mehtab Singh and Jitendra Kumar (Boxing) among others.

The relay team will leave for Jhajjar and later reach Rohatak where it have night Halt at MD University. It would reach Sonipat on August 4. It would reach village Palari, the last village of the Haryana by afternoon, where a send off (Farewell) function will be organised.

H S Bhadu, Coordinator of HOA for Youth Baton Relay in Haryana said that Baton Relay team in Haryana will be accorded a warm welcome and proper reception at all the four District headquarters and through out the route by the people of Haryana.
