Tata Motors Q1 net slips 30% to Rs 326.11 cr
New Delhi, Jul 30 (UNI) Tata Motors Ltd, the country's leading truckmaker, today reported a sharp decline of 30 per cent in its net profit to Rs 326.11 crore for the quarter ended June 2008 as compared to Rs 466.76 crore in the corresponding period previous year.
The total income, however, increased 17.8 per cent to Rs 7,244.05 crore for the quarter ended June 2008 from Rs 6,145.11 crore for the quarter ended June 2007.
Tata Motors, which is due to launch Nano, the world's cheapest car, around October, expects margins to remain under pressure due to rising input costs such as steel, a company statement said.
