New Delhi, Jul 30 (UNI) Stating that the unending protests against the unjust withdrawal of land allotted to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board in Jammu was a reminder that the region was experiencing worse days than those during the emergency, the BJP today accused the Jammu and Kashmir Government of being totally insensitive to the legitimate aspirations of the people.

BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar said the conduct of the police against the protesting mourners in Jammu was shameful and the city was under curfew for over a month. It is absolutely condemnable that the police were attempting to dispose off the body of Kuldeep Dogra, who had allegedly committed suicide protesting against the withdrawal of land to Sri Amarnath Shrine Board. The protests were from all sections of Jammu and the actions of the police was totally unjustified, he said.

He said the BJP wanted the Government to take note of the feelings of people of the region and return of the land allotted to the Board.

The BJP had sent thee-member Parliamentary team to study and report to the party the ground level situation there. The panel consisted of Mr S S Ahluwalia, Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Dharmendra Pradhan.

The team will submit their report to BJP President Rajnath Singh tomorrow.

He said the party condemned the seven attacks on the Amarnath pilgrims last month, some of which had taken place in Ganderbal, the constituency represented by National Conference Chief Omar Abdullah.

While he had claimed in the Lok Sabha that no attack had taken place.

Even the modesty of women pilgrims was not spared, Mr Javadekar alleged.

Hundreds of Hindu temples were burnt and desecrated over the last decades in the valley and the Congress and Mr Abdullah should take this into cognisance, he said.

The spokesman said the BJP wanted the country to take note of the observations of the Gauhati High Court regarding the illegal migration taking place in Assam from Bangladesh. The court stated that the infiltrators had intruded every nook and corner of Assam thus assuming the role of a kingmaker, he said.

The infiltration problem would be grave if read with the intelligence inputs regarding the activities of HUJI, analysing the penetration of terrorists in the garb of economic migration. All the illegal migrants must be identified and deported to the land of their origin, he demanded.
