Noon meal workers urge govt to promote eligible employees
Tiruchirapalli, July 30 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Integrated Noon Meal Employees Welfare Association has appealed to the state government to promote eligible employees of the noon meal centres as Area Supervisors.
Talking to newspersons after its State Executive meeting here yesterday, Association State President M Varadharajan said a resolution adopted at the meeting urged the government to take a decision on the issue before the end of next month. The meeting also authorised him to seek legal remedies in this connection, he added.
Thanking Chief Minister M Karunanidhi for granting medical insurance cover to the employees, he appealed to the Chief Minister to regularise the services of all the employees of the noon meal scheme, besides fixing basic pay and other benefits based on their service period.
It also wanted the government to fill up the existing vacancies in the noon meal centres all over the state immediately.
