Bajpe Airport upgraded with one more x.ray facility

Mangalore, July 30 (UNI) The Bajpe Airport near here now had one more facility of additional baggage x-ray facility in addition to the earlier baggage x-ray facility installed in the departure and arrival lounge a few days ago.

The additional baggage x-ray facility was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao yesterday.

The additional x-ray has been installed to speed up screening of baggage following increase in the number domestic and international flight service to and from the airport in recent times.

Moreover, till the exclusive international terminus becomes operational in 2009 at Kenjar, near Maravoor, these additional facilities will benefit the passengers.

M R Vasudev, Director of the airport, Chellamprasad, Mangalore chief of Air India Express (AIE) and officers of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) those among others who were present on the occasion.
