TDP to campaign vigorously against ''immoral'' UPA Govt
Hyderabad, Jul 29 (UNI) The main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today said the it would campaign vigorously across Andhra Pradesh against the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance Government for winning the trust vote by allegedly ''resorting to horse trading.'' Addressing a press conference here, TDP Parliamentary Party leader K Yerran Naidu remarked that ''the ruling Congress-led UPA has won the trust vote by immoral means. But the people, whose faith it has lost, will teach it a fitting lesson as and when the elections are held.'' Accusing the Centre of discriminating in handling the situation arising out of terror strikes in different parts of the country, he said while Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi visited non-Congress ruled Gujarat following the terror strike in Ahmedabad, they did not do so when the capital of Andhra Pradesh, ruled by the Congress, was rocked by bomb blasts last year.
Taking strong exception to Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's remark that '' opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu has lost his mental balance'', the TDP leader said it was Dr Reddy who had lost his ''mental balance fearing losing the next elections.
Another senior TDP leader K Sivaprasada Rao criticised State Congress President D Srinivas for his assertion that the Congress was ready to field Chittoor TDP MP D K Adikesavulu Naidu, who voted for the UPA Government in the trust vote, against the TDP President in Kuppam in the next elections.
