PMC wants ordinance for medical seats quota
Puducherry, July 29 (UNI) The Puducherry Munnetra Congress (PMC) today said the administration should get 50 per cent seats as it's quota from private medical colleges by promulgating an ordinance.
Addressing the press here, PMC Spokesman K Lakshminarayanan, MLA, said currently there was chaos in admissions to private medical colleges as they refused to part with the quota.
In addition, the government was set to stop the Kamaraj Educational Assistance Scheme for reimbursement of tution fee of students selected for medicine or engineering courses.
He said the situation must be remedied by promulgating an ordinance or enacting a law. The Lt Governor should intervene and render justice for students.
