Bangalore, Jul 29 (UNI) Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) today favoured unhindered screening of Superstar Rajinikanth's latest Tamil film 'Kuselan', which has been opposed by pro-Kannada organisations.

KFCC's response came in the wake of a personal letter written in Kannada by the superstar to Chamber's President and actress Jayamala.

The organisations had opposed the release saying that the actor's anti-Kannada statements on the Hogenakkal Water Project issue had hurt the people of the State badly.

''Rajnikant grew up in Bangalore and I appeal that his latest film be allowed to be released. Both Rajni and Balachandar are important to the industry. Hogennakkal issue should not be linked to Kuselan release,'' Ms Jayamala said in her appeal.

A member of the Chamber has purchased the rights to distribute the new release in the State. It is expected to be released in 13 theatres in the city and all other major cities in the State.
