Khan urges for setting up of task force for Wakf
Bangalore, Jul 29 (UNI) Chairman of the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Wakf Rehaman Khan today urged the Karnataka Government to set up a task force for Wakf to evict the encroachers from its properties in the state.
Mr Khan told reporters here that in Bangalore Urban alone, more than 2,000 acres of land had been illegally occupied by both individuals and institutions.
He said he had urged the State Government to expedite surveying Wakf properties, besides strengthening its administration.
Mr Khan said members of the Muslim community should take up protection of the properties as a movement and not wait for the Government to initiate action as the properties could be utilised for its socio-economic development.
