High alert in North Coastal Dists of AP
Visakhapatnam, Jul 29 (UNI) Police today sounded a high alert in the North Coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh and stepped up vigil along the Andhra-Orissa Border in view of the 'Martyr's Week,' observed by the Maoists.
According to police sources here, combing operations in the region have been intensified. Police have stepped up random checks of vehicles, entering the Agency Areas in the border regions. After the Maiosts' attack on the Greyhound personnel at Ballimela, high alert had been sounded in sensitive areas of Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam districts.
The Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation had cancelled night bus services to Agency Area.
