Bomb threats at Kalyan, Ambernath stations

Mumbai, Jul 29 (UNI) Security has been tightened at Kalyan and Ambernath Railway stations on the Central Railway, following an anonymous call received by Thane City Control room here this afternoon, stating that a bomb had been planted at these stations.

However, the call later turned out to be a hoax.

At around 1535 hrs, the Central Railway Control Room received a call from Thane Control room stating that a bomb was being planted at Kalyan and Ambernath railway stations, railway sources said here.

A Bomb disposal squad and sniffer dog team were immediately rushed to these stations and after a thorough check nothing was found at both the railway stations.

However, security has beefed up at these stations, the sources said.

Meanwhile, according to a report from Thane, the Ambernath police station also received an anonymous call today threatening that after Ahmedabad, Ambernath and Kalyan townships will be the next targets for terrorist attacks, following which security has been tightened at both the places.
