VCK volunteers picket Govt General Hospital

Puducherry, July 28 (UNI) Tension prevailed here for some time when the 'Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi' (VCK) volunteers picketted the Government General Hospital and gheraoed the Resident Medical Officer, here today.

The agitators alleged that doctors were responsible for the death of a patient admitted to the hospital.

Police said N Raja, hailing from Thirukkanur, was admitted to the hospital a-few-days back following an accident.

However, he succumbed to his injuries this morning.

The VCK volunteers and the relatives of the deceased refused to accept the body and resorted to the agitation.

Senior police officials rushed to the spot and pacified them, and brought the situation under control.
