TRS stages dharna before Vidyut Soudha
Hyderabad, July 28 (UNI) Leaders and workers of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) today staged a dharna in front of the APTRANSCO office, demanding that the Government supply seven-hour uninterrupted power to the farmers during this Khariff season.
The TRS workers and senior leaders, along with party President K Chandrasekhara Rao's son Taraka Rama Rao, staged a sit-in in front of the office, disrupting vehicular traffic for more than an hour at the busy Khairatabad junction.
On the request of the officials, the TRS withdrew its dharna and submitted a memorandum to TRANSCO CMD Ajeya Kallam on their demands.
The leaders warned that the TRS would intensify its agitation if the Government did not concede their demands.
The power shortage had created problems for the farmers, facing difficulties in sowing paddy seeds during this season, the leaders alleged.
