Officials find only a 'three-paise' coin in 50 yr-old locker

Coimbatore, Jul 28 (UNI) District panchayat officials, who waited for more than four hours were disappointed as they find only a 'three-paise' coin when they opened a 50-year-old locker with the help of a gas welding team at the District panchayat office here today.

While attending a press conference of VHP International President here, most of the newspersons received a text message in their cell phones from the Public Relations Officer that a 50-year-old locker was being opened at the collectorate.

Press photographers and newspersons then rushed to the Collectorate.

The Austrian made locker was fire proof with thick metal. It was reported that the key of the locker had been lost years back.

After getting approval from the District Collector, the Panchayat officials had decided to break open the locker.

The locker was opened within half-an-hour, but they could find only a 'three-paise' coin.
