Maria Susairaj moves High Court for bail

Mumbai, Jul 28 (UNI) The Neeraj Grover murder case co-accused Kannada film actress Maria Susairaj today moved the High Court for bail.

The bail plea came up for hearing before Justice Bilal Nazki and Justice Asutosh Kumbhkoni, who fixed August four as the date of final hearing.

In the bail application, Susairaj had challenged the sessions court order, which rejected her bail application last Friday, after the prosecution argued that there was enough evidence to link her to the murder.

Advocate Nitin Pardhan, who appeared on behalf of Susiraj, contended that his client was falsely implicated in the case and that there are neither circumstantial nor any direct evidence against her. He said at the most she can be charged for destroying of evidence, which is a bailable offence.

Synergy Adlabs creative head Grover was allegedly stabbed to death by Susairaj's friend Emile Jerome at her flat in Malad on May 8. Jerome is also in custody, and has not moved any court for bail.
