BJP announces 59-member election mgmt committee, Khurana left out
New Delhi, Jul 28 (UNI) The state BJP today announced its 59-member election management committee under the stewardship of Prof V K Malhotra for the forthcoming Assembly elections in Delhi.
While party big-wigs like Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley are among the 'top five' who have been appointed as 'advisors'/'special invitees' and all 16 district presidents as 'invitees', party's old war horse Madan Lal Khurana has been given a miss.
Promising to expose the ten years of Congress' ''misrule'' in Delhi, state BJP president Harshvardhan said price rise, corruption, demolition, sealing and ''false assurances'' of the Sheila Dikshit government would be the party's poll plank.
''The election manifesto committee, election propaganda committee and similar other groups would soon be set up to bring the election campaign in top gear at the earliest,'' he said.
Candidates' selection would be strictly on their ideology committment, winnability factor and personal moral qualities, Mr Harshvardhan added.
