Puducherry, Jul 27 (UNI) Referring to the reports of sale of illicit liquor, manufactured here, in TASMAC shops in Tamil Nadu, PMK Parliamentary party leader and State Secretary M Ramadass today said if the administration failed to act on the issue, he would be forced to seek an inquiry by a Central agency.

In a statement here, Prof Ramadass said crimes such as illicit liquor and murders were hampering the development of the union territory and wondered why the government could not put an end to those acts.

He alleged the hesitation (to put down the crimes) may be due to the direct or indirect involvement of powerful politicians.

Stating it was not possible to sell illicit liquor manufactured in Puducherry at Tamil Nadu's TASMAC without the support of some of the shop employees or nexus of politicians from both the Sides, Prof Ramadass asked the Puducherry administration to reveal the details of the number of such illicit units in the territory identified so far, those involved in the crime and the action initiated against them.
