Monsonal activity spurts in MP

Bhopal, Jul 27 (UNI) With monsonal activity increasing in Madhya Pradesh after a fortnight-long break, the state's western part and several other areas are receiving rain since yesterday.

The state capital witnessed an approximately hour-long drizzle this morning. The city recorded a high of 27 degrees Celsius and low of 22.4 C. Precipitation was reported at Indore, Ratlam, Hoshangabad, Betul, Gwalior, Guna, Sagar and some other places.

''Cyclonic circulation exists over northwestern Madhya Pradesh and coastal Orissa. Thundershowers are likely at several places in every division over the next 24 hours,'' said a Regional Meteorological Centre official.

Overnight rain figures were Dhar 7 cm, Ujjain 6, Rajgarh 5, Sagar, Guna and Shivpuri 4 each, Seoni, Naugaon, Indore and Mahidpur 3 cm each.
