Bhopal, Jul 27 (UNI) Elaborate security arrangements have been made across Madhya Pradesh including Bhopal, Ujjain and Indore following yesterday's serial blasts in Ahmedabad.

The state was already on a high alert after Friday's Bangalore blasts. However, the Ahmedabad explosions led the state government to convene an emergency meeting here last night in which Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reviewed the situation with senior police and administrative officials.

Chief Secretary Rakesh Sahni, Director General of Police S K Raut, Additional Chief Secretary Vinod Chaudhary and other senior police officials were present in the meeting, official sources said.

Instructions were given to intensify police vigilance and keep watch on the movement of suspicious people. The sleuths were asked to beef up security in all sensitive areas across the state especially in Ujjain and Indore, the sources said.

Mr Chouhan also appealed to the people of the state to provide information to the police about the movement of any suspicious person or group.

In Bhopal police patrolling was beefed up and a strict vigil was being maintained in places like bus stands and railway stations including the entry and exit points of the city.
