New Delhi, Jul 26 (UNI) In a major shootout, inside a police station, a CRPF Head Constable (HC) was killed and a Constable injured following a heated argument between them this afternoon in Mayur Vihar area of east Delhi.

According to sources, while HC B C Yadav (40) died on the spot after two bullets hit him in the chest, Constable Rajbir (25) has been admitted to the hospital.

Belonging to the 82nd Battalion, both had returned from their 0600-1100 hrs duty when the incident took place on the third floor toilet inside the police station.

Deployed at the Akshardham Temple, both were part of the contingent of 50-odd CRPF platoon, camping at the Mayur Vihar police station.

Rajbir, hit in the stomach, was first taken to the Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital and then shifted to the GTB Hospital where his condition was said to be stable.

CRPF DIG (Delhi range) Ravi Prakash said it was a case of personal enmity, but investigations were on to get to the real cause.

''In all 4-5 rounds were fired and investigations are being carried out,'' he added.

Yadav, hailing from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, had joined the CRPF in 1989 while Rajbir hailed from Haryana and joined the para-military force in 2004.

CRPF spokesman Ajay Chaturvedi told UNI that after Rajbir gained consciousness, he told that he first fired at Yadav and then shot himself fearing social ostracisation.

Rajbir fired after Yadav threatened to report his mischief of robbing his money to the seniors, the spokesman added.
