Rajhans Convention Centre inaugurated in Faridabad
Surajkund, Faridabad, Jul 26 (UNI) Minister of State for Tourism Kiran Choudhry today inaugurated the Rajhans Convention Centre at Surajkund here.
The convention centre has been constructed at an estimate cost of Rs 511.84 lakh, which has been shared between Union Ministry of Tourism and the state government in the ratio of 25:75.
Speaking on the occasion, which was attended by travel agents, tour operators and travel writers, Ms Choudhry said, ''Situated at a distance of eight km from South Delhi, the Centre was the much-awaited need of the area, with whose commissioning, Surajkund will become an ideal MICE and wedding destination.'' About the special features of the Centre, the Minister stated that the Convention Hall Building was built in stone masonry work blending with the architecture of the Hotel Rajhans Building, which adjoined the Centre.
Mr Shilabhadra Banerjee, Secretary Tourism, Government of India, described Haryana Tourism as a force to reckon with in the tourism industry. ''The government is striving hard to market 'Incredible India' to the outside world as tourism is an employment generator and foreign exchange earner,'' he said.
Mr Keshni Anand Arora, Secretary Tourism, Haryana, said the state tourism has come of age and was pioneer not only in highway tourism but also in golf and farm tourism.
Ms Satwanti Ahlawat, Managing Director, Haryana Tourism, was also present at the occasion.
