Nuke deal would affect the integrity of India: Lawyers
Puducherry, Jul 26 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu and Puducherry chapter of the All India Lawyers Association (AILA) today claimed that the Indo-US nuclear deal would affect the integirity of the country.
In a resolution adopted at one day conference of the chapter here, it alleged that the UPA government had surrendered to American imperialism, executive president of the chapter Ramamurty told a press conference.
Another resolution pointed out the provision of Rs 6000 in Andhra Pradesh and Rs 1000 in Karnataka to the lawyers, who had registered themselves with the bar association in the respective states and demanded that Rs 3000 be provided to the lawyers three years after their registration in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
In another resolution, it urged for the enhancement of the family welfare amount from Rs two lakh to Rs five lakh, Mr Ramamurthy said, adding that the lawyers in those states would take out a procession in Chennai on August 29 to press these demands.
